7 Lakes of Ausangate Tour: Cusco’s Turquoise Circuit

Full Day Small groups of 8–12 travelers for safety and personalized guiding Cusco, Peru

Tour Details

The 7 Lakes of Ausangate Tour is without a doubt one of the most spectacular and visually striking trekking routes in all of Peru. Located at the foot of the imposing Ausangate Glacier the fifth-highest mountain in the country and the sacred Apu protector of Cuscothis circuit immerses you in a high-Andean landscape where time seems to stand still among ancient glaciers and unreal-colored mountain lakes.
Each of the seven lagoons (Pucacocha, Patacocha, Alqacocha, Qomerco cha, Orco Otorongo, China Otorongo, and Azul Cocha) has its own unique personality. Their colors range from milky turquoise to deep blue and emerald green, created by pure glacial meltwater and the mineral-rich soil. Walking this route is not only a physical challenge, but also a visual pilgrimage where the vastness of the Vilcanota Mountain Range makes you feel small yet deeply connected to something greater.
This tour is ideal for trekking lovers who wish to escape crowded routes and embrace the solitude of snow-capped peaks. Along the trail, it is common to encounter herds of alpacas and llamas, and with some luck, spot the majestic Andean condor soaring above the summits. Ending the day by relaxing in the Pacchanta hot springs while watching the sunset over Ausangate is the perfect reward for an adventure that will remain etched in your memory forever.
